Definition: Novice
J3d.(3) NOVICE: A Stake which is confined to dogs which have not gained a place, or places, which would qualify them for first preference in the draw for Open Stakes.

Definition: All Aged Stake: A stake which is open to all dogs of a specified breed or breeds without restriction as to their age, but which may be restricted by any other conditions which may be determined by the society subject to the approval of the Board of the Kennel Club – No qualifications needed for this stake

Retriever Training Day

Berkshire Downs & Chilterns Golden Retriever Club is hosting a Montoux Gundogs – Retriever Training Day.
Tuesday, 5 August 2025 in Basingstoke, RG26 5ED
Morning session: 9:30am to 12:00pm
Afternoon session: 1:00 pm to 3:30pm
£35 per session
Join us for a full day of fun and learning at our Retriever Training Day, specially designed for Novice Dogs, Novice Handler combinations. Whether you are new to gundog work or just starting your journey this is a great opportunity to build confidence, skills and connection with your dog in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Show Bred Gundogs especially welcome! Come and experience what your gorgeous retriever was bred to do – we will focus on the basic gundog foundations, steadiness, and retrieving with enthusiasm as well as some water work in the gorgeous lake.
You are very welcome to book the morning and afternoon sessions (with a break for lunch in between). It is going to be an enjoyable and enriching day out with like-minded dog lovers.
